WHY IS VETERANS DAY IMPORTANT?
Being the son of a World War II
KIA and a Veteran myself, I know first hand what our Veterans and their
families sacrifice for us. Each of them knows that their service may
result in the ultimate sacrifice, yet they volunteer anyway. Where do we
get these men and women that knowingly give a blank check on their very
own lives? For over 200 years they have been answering the call to duty
without hesitation. They only represent about 1% of our population,
but millions of them have worn the cloth over our history and not once
have they ever let us down. What a difference the 1% of our Sons and
Daughters have made. Fortunately for us, their service to us has been as
steady as the “Rock of Gibraltar.”
Our Veterans don’t get to vote on where or how they will serve, they
just do it because it has always been about Duty, Honor, Country.
Tomorrow, November 11th is our opportunity to thank them for service and
dedication to our nation. Our presence will be a reflection of our
support and respect for all that they have done for this nation…it is
the very least we can do. Don’t you agree?
